Machinery
Fuel Analyst
Daily fuel consumption split between productive operating burn and wasted idle burn — calculated from ECU data, not invoices.
Travelling Rate
27.5 L/hr
Idle Rate
5.5 L/hr
Total Fuel Cost
$3,808
Idle Fuel Cost
$225
📊 What it shows
  • Daily fuel consumption chart — operating fuel vs idle fuel, stacked per day
  • Travelling fuel rate (L/hr under load) and idle fuel rate (L/hr at idle)
  • Total fuel cost for the selected period based on your bulk diesel price
  • Idle fuel cost as a dollar figure and percentage of total fuel spend
  • Daily breakdown table — litres, operating hours, idle hours, and rates per day
🔢 How it calculates
  • Total litres consumed comes from your OEM telematics ECU — not from fuel invoices
  • Idle fuel = idle hours × idle burn rate (set per asset, or platform default by machine type)
  • Operating fuel = total litres minus idle fuel
  • Fuel cost = litres × bulk diesel price per litre (set in Settings — update when your tank price changes)
💡
Idle burn rate defaults apply by machine type if not set on the individual asset — Excavator 4.0 L/hr, Dump Truck 5.5 L/hr, Wheel Loader 4.5 L/hr and so on. Set the actual rate on each asset for more accurate calculations.
Machinery
Idle Cost Analyst
The full financial cost of machines running without working — across four components most operators never calculate.
Total Idle Hours
21.0 hr
Idle Fuel Cost
$255
Depreciation
$1,039
Total Idle Cost
$1,629
Cost ComponentWhat It Represents
Idle Fuel Cost
Litres burned at idle × fuel price — fuel producing zero output
Depreciation Cost
Engine hours at idle × depreciation per hour — idle hours consume asset life just as working hours do
Servicing Cost
Hour-based service intervals triggered by idle hours — oil changes and scheduled services count idle time
Maintenance Cost
Engine wear during idle — repair budget consumed even when the machine isn't working
📊 What it shows
  • Total idle hours for the selected asset and period
  • All four idle cost components as individual dollar figures
  • Daily idle cost chart — each component stacked per day
  • Daily breakdown table — idle hours and cost per day
  • PDF export for sharing with site managers and operators
⚠️
Reducing idle time by 20% on a typical construction fleet saves tens of thousands of dollars per year — without purchasing any new equipment. The Idle Cost Analyst makes this visible for the first time.

📊
Utilisation Analyst
Actual operating hours vs planned capacity — benchmarked against your target, scoped to your recorded-data window for accuracy.
Available Hours
45 hrs/wk
Actual Hours
from ECU
Utilisation Rate
actual ÷ avail
Target
75%
📊 What it shows
  • Available hours for the period based on weekly capacity × weeks in the recorded-data window
  • Actual operating hours from telematics for the same window
  • Utilisation rate as a percentage, with variance vs your target benchmark
  • Daily utilisation chart — on target, below target, or exceeds 100%
  • Smart warning when your date filter is wider than your telematics data window
💡
Scoped to recorded data only. Utilisation rate uses the first-to-last telematics date in your selection — not empty calendar time. A wide date filter with sparse data won't produce misleadingly low utilisation figures.

Job Cost Analyst
The true cost of every project — assign machines by work day and get five cost components combined into a single defensible job cost figure.
Cost ComponentExample — Hornby Land Clearing
Total Fuel Cost
$5,508
True Idle Cost (Wasted)
$2,142
Depreciation (Operating Hours)
$4,813
Servicing (Operating Hours)
$1,049
Maintenance (Operating Hours)
$1,058
Grand Total Job Cost
$14,570
📊 What it shows
  • Create jobs and assign machines by work day using a calendar picker
  • Five-component cost summary — fuel, idle waste, depreciation, servicing, maintenance
  • Idle Cost Insight banner — total idle hours and true idle cost highlighted prominently
  • Asset breakdown table — per-machine cost across all components
  • Export Job Report PDF — professional, client-ready with idle cost insight on the first page
  • Export CSV for accounting and further analysis
  • Job status tracking — Active, Completed, Archived
The Idle Cost Insight banner shows 36.6 idle hours = $2,142 wasted on a single job — prominently, in amber, with the line: "This is the cost of machines running without working." That number, on a real job report, changes conversations.
🚛 Truck Modules

Powered by eRoad and BP Fleet Card

Daily odometer readings from eRoad and fill-to-fill fuel transactions from BP Fleet Card — combined to give you true cost per kilometre, per trip, per vehicle.

Trucks
🚛
Fuel Cost Analyst
Fill-to-fill fuel analysis — the most accurate measure of real-world fuel consumption for on-road vehicles.
L / 100 km
38.4
Cost per km
$0.86
Total Fuel Cost
$4,210
Total KM
4,895
🔢 How fill-to-fill works
  • Fill 1 establishes the starting odometer — excluded from calculations (no prior fill to compare)
  • Fill 2 litres ÷ km driven since Fill 1 = L/100km for that specific period
  • Each subsequent fill gives an accurate consumption rate for that driving period
  • eRoad odometer readings closest to each fill date are used for maximum precision
  • BP card number on each asset links every transaction to the right vehicle automatically
Trucks
📏
Cost Per KM Analyst
True cost per kilometre including fuel, depreciation, servicing and maintenance — the number that should drive freight pricing decisions.
ComponentCalculation
Fuel per km
Fill-to-fill litres × cost per litre ÷ km driven
Depreciation per km
(Current value − End of life value) ÷ remaining km
Servicing per km
Service cost per km from asset settings
Maintenance per km
Annual repair cost ÷ estimated annual km
📊 What it shows
  • Total cost per km across all four components — not just fuel
  • Each component as an individual per-km figure and dollar total
  • Trend chart — track cost per km over time to identify aging assets
  • Compare cost per km across similar vehicles in your fleet
💡
NZ industry benchmark for truck fuel cost is approximately $0.155/km. The Cost Per KM Analyst shows you where each vehicle sits against this — and what's driving the difference.
Trucks
🌿
Emissions Analyst
Per-vehicle CO₂-e emissions from actual BP fill data — calculated to NZ government standards, ready for sustainability reporting.
📊 What it shows
  • CO₂-e emissions per vehicle for the selected period
  • Daily emissions chart — identify high-emission periods
  • Fleet-wide truck emissions summary
  • Calculated from actual BP fuel transaction volumes — not estimates
  • PDF export for ESG and corporate sustainability reporting

Trip Report
Select any vehicle and any time window — get the complete cost of that trip in seconds.
Trip Distance
529 km
Fuel Cost
$489
Depreciation
$167
Total Trip Cost
$747
🔢 How it calculates
  • Trip distance = eRoad odometer at trip end minus reading at trip start
  • Fuel cost = trip km × vehicle's most recent fill-to-fill rate (not fuel bought during the trip)
  • Depreciation, servicing and maintenance = trip km × per-km rates from asset settings
  • Fuel rate reference shown — exact fill-to-fill period used and the L/km and $/L applied
📊 What it shows
  • Trip distance, four cost components, and total trip cost
  • Visual cost breakdown bar — fuel, depreciation, servicing, maintenance proportions
  • Total trip emissions in kg CO₂-e
  • Fuel rate reference — transparency on exactly which fill-to-fill period was used
  • PDF export — share with clients or cost to specific jobs
